Bring some flowers in your life

In a recent article, I wrote about my new project of trying to enjoy life to the fullest again. There are a few things I plan to do which might or might not help me in my endeavor. One of those things is to speak to different people to help me get back on track. Two weeks ago, I had a meeting with one of these people. We spoke about my situation and what I can do, and she had a few interesting suggestions for me. I might tell you more about it in future articles, but today, I want to focus on her tip to add flowers to my life.

Life is energy. You might think that this is some alternative pseudo-science and maybe it is, but I see evidence that supports this claim. Just think about the following aspect. There is a difference between an empty room and a room in which someone is sleeping or unconscious.

At the moment, I don’t have anybody waiting for me when I come home. As I am also not in my flat for 4 days a week, it doesn’t make sense to get an animal. That would be cruel. So, she suggested that I get myself a flower. To be more specific, she tasked me with buying a new flower every Friday. This should bring some life and energy in my life.

So, last week, I got myself my first flower. It is a lovely orchid and I called her Florence or Flo in short. I spoke to her and told her that from now on, she will be visited by a new friend each Friday. Today, I got a rose which I called Rose (yeah not very creative, but I like the name a lot =) ).

And I can say that it has an effect. Not only is there a living element in my room, but the friendly and warm colors make the room more pleasant. It is a tiny step, but I would not have thought about this. I mean I was and still am looking for the big change that will make things right. Maybe I overlooked that a plethora of small things can have that big impact, I am looking for. However, I need to remind myself to be open for it.

If you are in a similar position, maybe bring some flowers into your life.

Have a wonderful day, Stephan
