Know how to recharge your batteries

We all spend energy. Sometimes more, and sometimes less. At the moment, I know that everything I do costs me a bit more energy than usual. That is why it is even more important to know how I can recharge my batteries.

Firstly, it is good to know whether you are more of an extrovert or an introvert. Keep in mind though that there is always a mix and you tend to be more extrovert in certain areas and more introvert in other. For example, I have no problems speaking in front of large or small groups presenting something. A trait often associated with extroverts. However, when it comes to recharging my batteries, I am more of an introvert. To recharge, I need to be alone, or in a relaxing environment, or with a loved one. I can also recharge my batteries when I am in a group, but then only if I don’t say anything and the group is an international one and everyone is speaking English in his or her accent. I know this is rather specific, but I love that =)

Though, in general, I like to spend some time alone. I crawl under the blanket and read a book and drink a tea during winter or I go outside or sit in the sun during summer. If possible, I do something good for myself. Either going to a spa for a massage or I take a hot bath. Sometimes, I just watch one movie after the other. Oh, and meditation helps, too. Moreover, for me sleep is incredibly important. If I listen to my body, I can see what I need. In addition, I realize that whenever I don’t eat and drink enough, my energy reserves deplete quickly, too. In essence, I need to be aware of my body and my soul to handle my energy.

It is very helpful to know how you can recharge. It helps me to stay balanced and to better deal with stress. Especially, if you are in an analyzing phase, as I am right now. I spend a lot of time and energy thinking and I can feel that my resources are drained quite quickly. Without taking the time to recharge, it would take me longer and my thoughts would be darker. I need the energy to stay positive and focused.

As today was a rather tiring day, I am already in bed while writing those lines. My kindle is right beside me and the next step will be to brew myself a delicious cup of tea. I hope you have a wonderful evening as well. May it bring you energy no matter if you are alone or with friends. Just stay curious and observe what or who can give you energy.

Take care =)

Stephan
