36 Questions to fall in love – I

The New York Times published an article some time ago titled: 36 Questions – How to fall in love. It is a wonderful way to get to know someone you just met, or someone you know for a long time. The questions tend to go deep and cover topics we normally don’t talk about.

As I want you dear reader, to get to know me better and to understand my ways of looking at the world, I will, from time to time, answer one of those questions. I’d be happy, if you will also share your answer in the comments below or by writing an email. That way, I can also get to know you =)

The first question is: Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

I’d like to name one person, which is already dead and one person, which is still alive.

The person which is long gone would be Socrates. I’d like him to use his Socratic method on me to challenge my perspectives and expand my horizon. As I am fascinated by knowledge and reflection, he, as one of the great philosophers of Ancient Greece, would be a perfect guest to have for me. I would talk with him about today’s society and his points of view on love and values.

The person, who is still alive, and who I would like to have as a dinner guest is my sister. We speak from time to time and I wish, I could see her more often, including her husband and my little nephew. I value her as a person a lot. She is determined and strong and went through a lot and still cares so much for other people. I can still learn from her and I’d like to spend another day just with her to speak about everything and nothing. We did that in the past for a while, when I was still living in Berlin. She gives me a lot of love and strengths and I am grateful for her.

Who is the person you want to have dinner with? And if it is actually possible, why not arranging a date? =)

Take care
